At October, 15 until 16, Prof. Flávio Silva participated in the SwitchOn Workshop, at São Paulo in the Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP).
During the Workshop, Prof. Flávio Silva, presented a talk call “Future Internet Deployment: The Path Ahead” about the research challenges related with communication technologies in order to support a fully mobile and connected society, where the right information is ready to be used by humans, machines and systems. The challenges are related with the deployment of new network architectures that will enabled new types of applications, supported by a fully programmable infrastructure.
During the workshop it was possible to strength the connection with US researchers and find interesting topics that will enable new international collaboration with the United States.
The SwitchOn is a project funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) of the United Stated and it main goal is to explore the potential collaborations between the United States and the Brazil regarding Future Networks Design and Applications, Cyberinfrastructure and Clouds and Data Center Networking.
Inside the project two workshop were promoted: the first one in Miami, on January, 2015 and this second one in São Paulo. These actions aims to enhance international collaborations on Future Internet research and development between the United States and Brazil.
