At November 9, 2015, Prof. Flávio Silva presented at the Florida International University (FIU) the talk "The Road Towards Future Internet Deployment".
At the talk, Prof. Flávio present the stringent new requirements that are posed to the current networks. The new requirements come from a new categroy of applications. This new category of applications is related with Internet of Thing (IoT), Smart Cities and Smart Environments in scenarios where a massive number of consumers and producers deal with huge amounts of real time information that must be transmitted, processed and analyzed. Several research initiatives go toward this direction such as 5G and the efforts called Future Internet research.
This talk addresses some key topics in this area and present our vision and ongoing research in order collaborate with deployment of the Future Internet.
The talk was organized Prof. Jason Liu, from the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences at the Florida International University and during the visit to FIU it was possible to plan new joint collaboration.
